Privacy Policy – ADHUNA App

Who we are 

ADHUNA is a maternal-health support application operated by FOGSI’s Project ADHUNA, [REGISTERED ADDRESS], India (“we”, “us”). The app is intended for trained healthcare professionals. 

Scope 

This policy describes how we handle personal data when you use the ADHUNA mobile application and related support pages. It does not cover any data you process about your patients in your professional capacity. 

What we collect 

  • Device & diagnostics: app version, device model, OS, crash logs, basic privacy-preserving analytics (e.g., feature usage counts). We do not collect precise location.
  • In‑app clinical entries: GA/EDD inputs, IV iron calculations, postpartum countdown/checklist interactions. By default these remain on your device and are not transmitted to our server. User will need to note results as the app do not have an option for a back-up.

What we do not collect 

  • We do not require or collect patient-identifiable information.
  • We do not run third‑party advertising and do not sell or share personal data for advertising or marketing purposes.

How we use data (purposes) 

  • To provide core app functions and features you request.
  • To secure, debug and improve the app (e.g., crash logs, aggregate usage).
  • To communicate with you about the app (e.g., support, service notices).
  • To comply with legal obligations.

Legal basis / consent 

Where consent is required, we will ask in‑app (for example, optional analytics). You can withdraw consent in Settings. For strictly necessary processing (security, fraud prevention, crash logs), we rely on legitimate purposes and/or compliance with law. 

Storage & transfers 

App data you enter (clinical entries) is not stored anywhere and would be visible to you only on your device. We do not save, store, process or transfer data.  

Retention 

  • Account/contact data: Neither collected nor retained
  • Diagnostics/analytics: retained up to 12 months, then aggregated/anonymised.
  • On‑device clinical entries: under your control; results can be viewed only when values are entered or countdown is started. Results are not stored in the App or your device.

Your choices & rights 

You may access, update or delete the App; opt‑out of optional analytics. To exercise rights under applicable law (including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, and where applicable GDPR/UK GDPR), contact us at adhuna@fogsi.net. 

Children 

The app is intended for healthcare professionals and is not directed to children. 

Security 

We implement administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data, including encryption in transit, access controls, least‑privilege practices and regular reviews. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. 

Service providers (processors) 

We may use limited service providers to host contact/support data and to process privacy‑preserving diagnostics. They act on our instructions and are bound by confidentiality and security obligations. We do not allow third‑party advertising SDKs. 

  • Cloud hosting/support desk: [NAME] – stores support tickets and contact details.
  • Crash logging: [NAME] – collects crash reports without patient identifiers.
  • Privacy‑preserving analytics (optional): [NAME] – aggregated usage metrics (Ads features disabled).

Your responsibilities 

You are responsible for complying with your organisation’s and Playstore or AppStore policies and applicable law when using the app, including avoiding entry of patient‑identifiable information where not required and following your facility’s emergency and escalation pathways.

Changes to this policy 

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post changes in the app and update the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be notified in‑app. 

Important clinical notice 

This app provides guideline‑aligned prompts to support adherence and calculates IV FCM dosage/ EDD using standard formulas; it does not replace clinical judgment or local protocols. For any case, particularly during emergencies, follow your facility’s procedures and postpartum haemorrhage pathways.
